After a decades-long career in HR and business management, I found myself blindsided by perimenopause – a journey that would ultimately reshape my professional path and personal mission. When doctors couldn’t provide the answers I desperately needed, I took matters into my own hands, diving deep into menopause research and becoming a certified menopause practitioner.

As an HR professional (SHRM-CP) and Mental Health Ally, I’ve spent years helping people navigate workplace challenges. My journey also includes surviving and thriving after a relationship with a narcissistic ex-husband – an experience that taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, healing from trauma, and the importance of recognizing toxic relationship patterns. This personal journey through therapy and recovery is what helps to form my perspective on midlife challenges and personal growth.

I believe in straight talk about menopause – no sugar-coating, no dismissive “it’s just part of life” platitudes. Through this blog, I share evidence-based information (with a healthy dose of humor), practical coping strategies, and the occasional hard-won wisdom from my own journey of dealing with everything from mood swings to career upheavals to rebuilding life after toxic relationships.

My mission is to build a community where women can find support, share their stories, and access the information they need to advocate for better healthcare and understanding. Because while we can’t always control what midlife throws at us – whether it’s hormonal changes, relationship challenges, or major life transitions – we can absolutely control how we face it – together!

  • My PMDD Journey – Part 3: Breaking the Thought Spiral

When PMDD returned to my life, it brought an unwelcome companion: rumination. What I didn’t understand at first was how these two forces would feed into each other, creating a cycle that felt impossible to break. The Dance of PMDD and Rumination Think of PMDD and rumination like two dancers in a dark waltz. PMDD…

  • My PMDD Journey – Part 2: When Lightning Strikes Twice

Life has a way of teaching us lessons we didn’t know we needed to learn. After my divorce, I found myself navigating single parenthood with four kids, rebuilding my life, and – surprisingly – feeling better than I had in years. The PMDD symptoms that had once threatened to overwhelm me seemed manageable, distant even.…
